Annual Renewal is now open for the 2025 - 2026 permit year.  

Annual Renewal is now open for the 2025 - 2026 permit year, and the Annual Renewal form is now accessible in the Registrant Portal. 

You can complete your Renewal form by clicking the Renewal tab in the Registrant Portal.

Registrants who do not have a complete and approved renewal form by Friday, October 31 will have their practice permit suspended and will not be able to practice dental hygiene as of November 1. Practicing dental hygiene in the province of Alberta without holding a valid practice permit is a punishable contravention of the Health Professions Act and may result in a referral to the Complaints Director for further action. 

The renewal form cannot be saved and must be completed in one sitting. This means that your information in the Registrant Portal must be complete and correct BEFORE you begin the renewal form. See the checklist on the right-hand side of this page for more details on how to update your information before beginning the renewal form.

Once you have reviewed and updated your information, follow these steps to submit your renewal form: 

1. Click on the Renewal tab in the Registrant Portal.
2. Review all of the steps listed. Make sure you have any required documents saved, a credit card ready, and pop-up blockers turned off in your browser.  
3. Click on the “Start My Renewal Application” button at the bottom of the tab.
4. Read and fill out the Renewal Application form with complete and accurate information.
5. Complete payment of all required fees. Your form will not be processed by College staff until payment has been completed.
